TouchSkin cartridges Soft Edge Magnum SEM/LT

TouchSkin Soft Edge Magnum cartridges have been developed for soft shading, natural tonal transitions and smooth gradient building. The curved needle arrangement distributes pigment without creating strongly defined edges, producing a subtler result than a traditional Magnum configuration.

The needle arrangement, tip construction and membrane response work together as a single system, providing smooth movement and predictable pigment delivery.

Transparent, Closely Fitted Tip

The transparent tip provides a clear view of the needles and the area where pigment is being deposited. This makes it easier to assess shade intensity and maintain precise control over the smoothness of each transition.

The closely fitted tip stabilises needle movement and supports even, controlled pigment distribution throughout the procedure.

TouchSkin Flex System

The TouchSkin Flex System uses membranes with performance characteristics tailored to the purpose of each cartridge type. In the Soft Edge Magnum configuration, the membrane has been selected to support smooth movement of the wide needle arrangement and provide a controlled response while gradually building soft shading.

Needle Count

The number of needles affects the width of the working area and the rate at which shade can be built.

• 5SEM and 7SEM – smaller transitions and precise tonal details,
• 9SEM and 11SEM – versatile configurations for soft shading,
• 13SEM and larger – smooth performance across larger areas.

Needle Diameter

Needle diameter affects pigment delivery, shade intensity and working speed.

• 0.25 mm – highly delicate tonal transitions with a high level of control,
• 0.30 mm – a balance between softness and efficiency,
• 0.35 mm – increased pigment flow and faster performance while maintaining a smooth result.

Needle Taper

TouchSkin SEM cartridges are available with Long Taper and Medium Taper needles. The length and shape of the needle point affect pigment delivery, working speed and the character of the resulting transitions.

• Long Taper – the long, slender needle point supports delicate pigment placement and precise building of subtle gradients. It is particularly suited to realism, portrait work and techniques requiring maximum control over shading.
• Medium Taper – the shorter needle point provides more direct pigment delivery and more efficient surface coverage. It is suitable for versatile shading and techniques requiring greater efficiency while maintaining a soft result.
